Following its World Premiere at Fantastic Fest, Chroma has acquired distribution rights in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and other English-language territories for seductive genre thriller Dinner to Die For, for which we're bringing you an exclusive still today.
The feature debut of South African filmmaker Diana Mills Smith, Dinner to Die For stars Shamilla Miller, Steven John Ward and Nina Erasmus, and follows:
Hannah (Miller), a culinary photographer, and her friend Evan (Ward), who share a passion for true crime content. When Evan suggests role playing their own true crime scenario involving a killer meal and the girl next door Blaire (Erasmus), things take a twisted turn.
Produced by OC House Productions and written by Cameron Scott, Orr Koren, and Mills Smith, Dinner to Die For marks the first feature project from the South Africa-based studio founded by Scott, Koren, and Kagiso Rabada.
Mills Smith had the following to say in a new statement:
“I set out to make a film that is as sexy and playful as it is bloody and twisted. Dinner to Die For is about desire validation, and the dangerous games we play to feel seen […] To have Chroma embrace my feature debut is incredibly exciting, as their commitment to innovative and boundary pushing genre filmmaking makes them the perfect partner to bring this story to audiences.”
Ahbra Perry, VP of Chroma adds:
“Dinner to Die For is a wickedly fun film. It’s dark, sexy, queer, and bloody delicious. To top it off, Diana serves up a kill so satisfying it lingers long after the credits. Chroma is thrilled to champion such bold new voices in genre film.”
